It is a ‘rest day’ for fitness, but my dog always gets hyper when we don’t do our run.
So this morning I decided to do what I have seen many others do; I let Sam pull me on my skateboard.
Unfortunately I haven’t mastered stopping. Sam got real excited at one point, ran pretty hard, and the oncoming intersection had a stop sign for us and uncontrolled traffic crossing it. The intersection seemed vacant, but I wanted to stop regardless. Tried the foot drag and it did not go too well.
On the positive side of things, I have learned that hitting the pavement doesn’t hurt as much as I always expect it to. It also helps to make certain as much of your body hits simultaneously as possible to spread the impact. If I had worn pants instead of shorts I may have even got up without blood letting.
But we did stop before the intersection.
